Business Alliance Program
The Business Alliance Program (BAP) is a partnership between SASC and local, socially responsible businesses that believe in contributing to the betterment of the lives of older adults in the area. SASC gains in the form of monetary or product donations and the businesses, in turn, are allowed periodic advertising access to the SASC mailing list which includes SASC members as well as others in the community.
Donate your car
SASC has partnered with Cars 4 Causes. Cars 4 Causes specializes in car donations and your donation through Cars 4 Causes will help raise money for Saratoga Area Senior Coordinating Council. To learn more about this program, please visit Cars 4 Causes SASC page.
Making A Contribution
SASC is a charitable non-profit 501(c)3 organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service. All donations to SASC are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Programs at the Senior Center and Adult Care Center are funded almost entirely by member fees, donations, and memberships.
Our needs are varied and we maintain an ongoing wish list for donations . Of course, cash contributions are always welcome. But SASC also benefits from receiving a broad range of donated items or services. Planned gifts from bequests, trust distributions, insurance, IRA balances, or appreciated stocks and bonds are also useful.

There are a number of ways you can contribute to SASC:
  • Cash, appreciated stock, or similar property
  • SASC has a wish list
  • Crafts, Equipment, Program materials, Office supplies
  • Durable medical supplies
  • Used operable vehicles
  • Space, services, or other creative donations
  • Remember SASC in your tax and estate planning

Cash/Appreciated Stocks or Similar Property
SASC must raise a large proportion of it's operating budget via private donations per year to keep our current programs in full operation. A donor is welcome to specify a purpose for the gift or to simply allow SASC to direct the gift where most needed.
Donors may choose to send memorial gifts to recognize a recently deceased acquaintance. SASC will notify remaining family members in the donor's behalf. Recognition gifts to celebrate a friend's or one's own significant birthday, anniversary or other achievements are another option.
Businesses may elect to sponsor specific program events throughout the calendar year.
SASC documents all cash or cash-equivalent donations with appropriate receipt and Thank You letters.

Crafts, Equipment, Program, or Office Supplies
SASC reduces its operating costs by accepting useful materials (examples: art supplies, books, prizes, etc.) for its day-to-day operations. The donor is responsible for setting the value of the deduction. General receipts are provided.

Durable Medical Supplies
SASC operates a Lending Closet to reuse walkers, canes, crutches, wheelchairs, and bathroom accessibility items. The donor is responsible for setting the value of the deduction. General receipt provided.

Used Operational Vehicles
SASC follows specific IRS rules in accepting such gifts, but the donor is responsible for setting the value of the deduction in most cases. SASC documents the gift with an appropriate receipt.

Remember SASC in Your Tax and Estate Planning
SASC is willing to work with your legal, accounting or tax advisors as you develop your long-range plan to distribute your assets. There can be tremendous income and estate tax advantages to charitable giving, even helping to increase the funds available to transfer to your heirs. SASC can assist you with Gift Annuities, charitable trusts, insurance policy beneficiary changes, and IRA/retirement fund balances.
