The Saratoga Senior Center is a comfortable and friendly place - no matter what activity you are joining; from exercise, luncheons & movies to dances, social hour or walking club, we are here for you.

Blood pressure checks
We offer free blood pressure checks the 3rd Thursday of each month, from 10-11 am, at the Senior Center. No appointment needed.
Hearing Services
Dr. Snyder, Au.D. is a certified Audiologist who has been serving the community for 25 years. She will be here on the first Friday of every month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The appointments will be 15 minutes each. Dr. Snyder will be able to test hearing, check ears for wax, clean hearing aids, and answer any questions about hearing and balance. To schedule an appointment, please call the front desk at 868-1257. Free services.
Health Insurance Counseling / HICAP
Covers medical insurance issues, long-term care, and Medicaid and Medigap counseling. Health insurance counseling is offered free the 4th Mondays of every month, from 1:00 to 3:00 in the afternoon. Please call the front desk at 868-1257 for more information and to schedule an appointment.
Medical Equipment Lending Program
The Medical Equipment Lending Program was created to assist seniors who may need medical equipment on a temporary basis. We receive our equipment through donations from our community. Some of the equipment, which is available to you, are: bath chairs, walkers, crutches, and wheelchairs.
This is a free service for you! If you need more information about our equipment, or would like to donate your equipment that you no longer need, please call us at 867-1998 ext. 237 or contact us at the Senior Center.
Flu Shots
Date not yet available for next flu shots. Typically held in late Oct. or beginning of Nov.
Tax Assistance
AARP Tax Aide is the nation's largest free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service. This free help on your taxes is available at the Senior Center for several months during the tax season. It is designed for low and middle income taxpayers, with special attention to those age 60 and above. Call the front desk at 868-1257 for more information and to schedule an appointment.
SALA - Legal Assistance
Clients must be 60 years or older and a Santa Clara County resident. Free services are provided by volunteer attorneys or paralegals. Legal assistance is provided for social security, Medicare, housing, landlord issues, power of attorney for health care, elder abuse, consumer problems, and simple wills. Please call the SALA office at 295-5991, extension 300, for information on obtaining free legal advice.
Managing Lifes Changes
Amy Parsons is a counselor who is available the first Thursday of each month, from 2-4 p.m. to meet with members of the Senior Center and their families who are going through difficult and significant changes in their lives. Please call 868-1257 for an appointment. The cost is free.
Support Groups
SASCC offers the following support groups for its members:
Caregivers Support Group
These meetings will provide support from other caregivers and resources to help choose the best care for your loved one.
Caregivers' Support Group meets the 3rd Wednesday from 2 to 3pm.
Transportation to/from SASCC Events
If you need a ride to/from any of our events or programs, call Outreach at 436-2865 to sign up.
Lending Library
The Senior Center maintains a library in its Fireside Room for use of all its members. You are welcome to just sit and read, or check out books to take home. All reading material has been donated to the center.
Shredding Service
Come to Saratoga Senior Center for professional shredding service. The shredding service is open to the public and is a great service for anyone concerned with identity theft and privacy.
